Thomas and Elizabeth Kelly in the 1852 Canada Census

I looked in Ancestry.com for Thomas and Elizabeth Kelly in the 1852 census.  I could not find them.  I eventually found them by putting in the district and sub-district numbers.  They had been incorrectly transcribed as Kilby!  I have added a transcription error message to the Ancestry.com site, so when they eventually get around to updating, everyone should be able to find the entry.  In the meantime, if you look for Thomas Kilby (sic) in the 1852 census at Ancestry.com in Gore township, Deux Montagnes County, Canada East you will find him.

For a free site for the 1852 Canadian census I use Automated Genealogy.  following is the URL that will take you to the page with Thomas Kelly (this site transcribed the entry correctly)
http://automatedgenealogy.com/census52/View.jsp?id=51345&highlight=16&desc=1852+Census+of+Canada+page+containing+Thomas+Kelly

At the top if this page, you will see 'Split view'.  if you left click once it will take you to a screen with the actual image.  If you look closely at the screen where it says Age, it gives the age of Thomas Kelly as 67,  and following is his birthday, 7 August!  It gives Elizabeth's  age 67 born May!  which is different from her death record info.  Still more questions!
The John Kelly on this page is their son, and the Lister(sometimes spelled Lester) family is their daughter Elizabeth with her husband and children.
