Silas Hitchcock moved to Granville, Washington, New York

Silas Hitchcock was the father of Martha Hitchcock who married Truman Waller (and thus the grandfather of Roxy Waller who married Martin Ebert).
While going through some old files, I came across some papers I had copied, but had not transferred the information to my genealogy database.
World Vital Records is a pay genealogy site on the internet (this site can be viewed for free at any LDS Family History Center).  While researching this site I came across the book:   Early Settlers of New York State, Their Ancestors & Descendants, Vol. 2.  It had a little bit about the Hitchcock family.  I am planning on looking in this book for Eberts next Wednesday.  Anyways, following are the notes I made:

Early Settlers of New York State, Their Ancestors & Descendants. Vol. 2 (World Vital Records at http://www.worldvitalrecords.com/)

Date of admission may not be absolutely accurate in every case, but are as nearly so as could be ascertained from many lists in the books.
Admitted in 1787
Hitchcock, Oliver and wife: Mercy. (I think he was asked to be minister of this Church/ he is not one of 'our' Hitchcocks)

Admitted in 1790
Hitchcock, Justin (I believe he is a son of Silas Hitchcock and half-brother to Martha Hitchcock)

page 358 Church at Middle Granville, Washington County, New York members
admitted in 1783
Hitchcock, Nathaniel, and wife; Silas (Hitchcock), and wife, and daughter, Achsah.
(I believe Nathaniel and Silas are probably brothers, although Nathaniel could be a nephew)

Hope everyone is having a great fall.  We haven't had any snow, and are enjoying it!  According to the weathermen, it is supposed to be a cold and snowy winter.  Hope they are wrong!!

  1. Carol,

I'm researching this line and have been trying to find evidence of Roxy Waller having been the daughter of Truman Waller. Based on various circumstantial data, the link sure looks good, but I wonder if you've seen anything definitive like a census, marriage or other record linking the two.

    Thanks,

    Sean J.
