War of 1812 Service Records about Martin Ebert

I received the War of 1812 records for Martin Ebert on 22 November, 2011.  Unfortunately, there were only 5 pages, with very little information on them, but I actually didn't expect much.  There is the cover page, 2 company pay roll cards, and 2 company muster roll cards.  It does actually say he is from Berne.

Cover Page information:
Name:     Martin Ebert
Company:     5 ARTILLERY AND INFANTRY REG'T (COLDEN'S) NEW YORK MILITIA.
Rank - Induction:     PRIVATE
Rank - Discharge: PRIVATE
plus 4 card numbers which I believe pertain to the following pay and muster roll cards.

the 2 pay roll and 2 muster roll cards all have the following information on them:

fourth page:

So, is this Martin Ebert 'ours'?  At least he is from Berne, where I have been looking into the John Ebert family.  I found some more church records on the internet today.  Still no marriage for John Ebert and wife, and no birth or christening for a Martin Ebert, born 1780-1783 at or near Berne.   Since this Martin Ebert was living in Berne in 1814 I think he probably is the son of John Ebert.  Now if we could just find a definitive record tying this Ebert family to ours!

I think my next plan of action will be to order some of the Lutheran Church records for the Albany County, New York area from the library in Salt Lake City.  Maybe the Ebert family was mentioned as witnesses in some of those records.

The Christmas season is soon upon us and I may/will be busy for the next month.  Everyone have a good and safe holiday season.
Merry Christmas
Carol H.
